When talking about one's spirit what we are really discussing is their vitality, liveliness, or the forces within that keep them going. Sometimes statements related to one's courage are phrased in this manner: "He's got a lot of spirit", and if someone seems dull they may be referred to as "spiritless". This seems to imply that some of us have more or less spirit than others.

Many times the terms "spirituality" and "religion" are mistakenly used interchangeably. They are not the same. Spirituality refers to one's unique relationship with that which is beyond both time and existence. Religion is a belief in, or relationship to a superior being, or beings. Religion usually involves formal, organized worship.
